The Divine Law is what governs the Gods. It was set down by Aero’Ra. It is largely incomprehensible to mortals. Few details of it are known, though sages have puzzled out a few of the details that are most pertinent to mortals.
- The Divine Mandate that the Gods work to further their portfolios.
- The Gods draw their power from the faith of their followers.
- The Gods are limited in the ways that they may interact with mortals and directly affect them. This is one of the least understood, but explains why mortals are granted power by the Gods.
- The Gods may not be the temporal rulers of the mortal plane. While theocracies dedicated to a God can rise, a mortal ruler must still preside over it. The details of this seem to be contradictory at points with the details understood only by the Gods.
